Want Your Own Domain Name?

posted about 7 months ago under Announcements

A little unpublished secret here at Carbonmade is that you can use your own domain name if you're on the Whoo! account -- this removes the .carbonmade.com from your URL. You can see an example of that by checking out our very own Dave Gorum's portfolio. We don’t have the most elegant solution to setting you up on your own domain right now, but if you shoot an e-mail to us at support@carbonmade.com I'd be happy to help you. You'll need to register your own domain through GoDaddy or through one of the numerous domain providers out there. Enjoy!

So there is no way to do this if you're on the free account?

Found this article through Twitter. To use your own domain name in Carbonmade, do you have to have a web hosting account or just a web domain name? Hey, thanks.

Hey Ilsa. Just a domain name. Shoot an email to Spencer (support@carbonmade.com) for the details.

I understand that if I signed up for my own domain, such as www.MarisaTaylorPhotography.com, then I can have my carbonmade portfolio under the domain marisataylorphotography.com-just as long as I have a whoo! account (which I do) What I want to know is that is there a way to put the html of the portfolio into my site, so that I can maintain multiple pages on my website/domain name, rather than just have the domain name I choose only be the carbonmade portfolio. Did I make sense?

Marisa: Yup. You can also have it at something like: http://portfolio.yourdomain.com. E-mail me at support@carbonmade.com and I'll be happy to walk you through the process.
